06 / Stewardship  ·  Production Operations

24/7 production operations backed by the engineers who built your system.

Active monitoring, proactive maintenance, and dedicated operational support — with direct senior engineering escalation when an incident needs it. When you phone us at 2am, the engineer who designed your system answers.

The escalation path

There are no call-centre tiers or deflection scripts. Incidents are triaged by the senior engineers responsible for your system from the first notification. Your named lead engineer is reachable directly during business hours; P1 incidents reach the on-call engineer immediately, any hour.

Incident response

Business-hours maintenance

Patching, deployments, capacity reviews, and non-urgent operational work happen during business hours by agreed change windows, with notice to your team.

24/7 P1 emergency response

Severity-1 outages — the system is down, data is at risk, or revenue is being lost — trigger immediate response any time of day. We publish target response and recovery windows and report against them.

Runbook discipline

Automated health telemetry

Every production system is instrumented for the metrics that actually predict failure — queue depths, lock waits, replication lag, memory pressure, disk IOPS saturation. Alerts fire on leading indicators, not on symptoms a user has already noticed.

Failover verification

Standby databases are failed over to on a schedule and verified against production. Backup restores are performed and checksummed. The procedures work before you need them, not during the incident.

Capacity headroom audits

Quarterly review of real resource utilisation against trend, with explicit calls on when to right-size up (or down). You stop paying for ghost headroom, and you don't run out of it either.

Transparent monthly reporting

A written monthly service report: every incident, cause, resolution, time to recovery, trend lines on latency and error rates, and capacity headroom. Written to be read by executives, with the detail an engineer can verify.
